On May 28, MAGMA hosted a joyful Convo Club + Cooking Together session at the Beechwood Community Centre—an experience filled with warmth, connection, and celebration.
We were delighted to welcome women from diverse backgrounds, including Haiti, Syria, Jamaica, Morocco, and India (Punjab). The session brought together meaningful conversations, rich cultural exchange, and plenty of laughter. Participants shared personal stories, learned about one another’s traditions, built new friendships, and cooked together—a beautiful way to connect and celebrate diversity.

MAGMA Professional Networking Event 2026
On March 26, MAGMA proudly hosted its Professional Networking Event 2026, which proved to be a great success. The event provided participants with valuable opportunities to connect with local employers, explore various booths, and gain meaningful insights to support their job search journey.
Attendees benefited from personalized guidance, including résumé reviews, career advice, and information on volunteering and internship opportunities—helping them take informed steps toward their professional goals.
We recognize that job searching can sometimes be challenging and even discouraging. This event was a humble initiative by MAGMA to offer guidance, encouragement, and meaningful support to our community every step of the way. 💼✨
Start & Grow Your Business Workshop
On March 31, MAGMA, in collaboration with the YWCA, hosted an engaging workshop on the theme Start & Grow Your Business. The session offered aspiring entrepreneurs a valuable opportunity to learn practical strategies for building and strengthening their ventures.
Participants explored key topics such as setting the right pricing and effectively structuring their businesses, gaining insights to support their entrepreneurial journey.
It was an inspiring and informative experience, filled with meaningful discussions, learning, and connection.
Inspiring Innovation at Venn Innovation

Cooking Together: Building Community Through Culture
On March 24, 2026, MAGMA’s Community Connection team hosted Cooking Together, a heartwarming activity that brought together six incredible women from different countries to share recipes, stories, and culture.
One participant, originally from Chad, introduced a traditional dish from her home country—creating a truly meaningful moment that fostered connection and brought everyone closer together.
More than just a cooking class, this initiative was about building community and creating a sense of belonging and home.
