Get Ready for the Spring Edition of the Community Compass: A Newcomer Resource Expo!

We’re excited to welcome you to the Spring edition of Community Compass—a vibrant newcomer resource expo! Are you ready?
This event brings together our most dedicated community partners to help newcomers connect with family-focused services throughout the Greater Moncton Area. With over 20 community partner booths set up in the gymnasium at Edith Cavell, there’s something for everyone!
But that’s not all—join us for snacks, crafts, outdoor games, and even a bouncy castle! Whether you’re new to the region or a longtime resident, we invite everyone to come out, say hello, meet new friends, and enjoy the fun. Volunteers will be on hand to support with activities and provide interpretation as needed.
Are you a community organization offering family or youth programming? If you’re interested in joining us for our Fall edition, we’d love to hear from you! Reach out to youth@magma-amgm.org to get involved.

Save the date—we can’t wait to see you in June!

Where: Edith Cavell School (Princess Street entrance)
When: Thursday, June 5th | 🕔 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Stay Connected with MAGMA’s Community Connections Events!

Looking to make meaningful connections in your community? Keep an eye out for MAGMA’s Community Connections Events—we’re always planning something exciting!
Over the past few months, we’ve had so much fun collaborating with community partners to create events that are engaging, inclusive, and accessible for all participants. We’ve loved getting to know new (and familiar!) faces and building strong, supportive connections.

Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to:
Mother’s Day Celebration – We honored mothers, caregivers, and their families with crafts, tea, and fresh flowers.
Nail Salon Days – Thanks to talented volunteers, women in our community enjoyed relaxing manicure sessions.
Gardening 101 – In partnership with the Community Hub, a group of young women got their hands dirty and learned about gardening—because we love to grow together!
Youth Activities – From candle-making to March Break madness (think tie-dye, movie night, Resurgo Museum visit, and a babysitting course), our youth events are always a blast! We’re also often found in neighborhood parks on school PD days—come say hi!

But Community Connections isn’t just about attending events—it’s also about getting involved.

Have a skill, passion, or extra time you’d like to share? Join our amazing volunteer team! Volunteering can feel overwhelming at first, so we offer Volunteer Information Sessions on the last Wednesday of every month, from 4:30–5:30 PM, to help you learn more about MAGMA and how you can contribute in a way that works for you.

Wondering what’s coming up this summer? We’ve got lots in store—and the best way to stay in the loop is by following us on Facebook and Instagram. That way, you’ll never miss an event, opportunity, or celebration.
See you out there!
