Hello – Bonjour, from the MAGMA Language School team!
We are thrilled to welcome you to our page and share with you a little bit about our Language School world. With a team from over 12 countries from around the world and over 15 spoken languages, we mean it when we say that languages are our passion and setting newcomers up for success in their new home and community in our region is our commitment.
Learning a new language is more than just learning to speak, listen, read and write in a new language; it is a magical key to unlocking new cultures, exploring new ways of communicating, and building social and professional bonds with new communities that one calls home. Learning a new language takes courage, is exciting and empowering and it creates endless opportunities, yet it does not come without challenges. At the MAGMA Language School, we understand that equipping newcomers with the right tools and cultural knowledge to connect and communicate efficiently with their new communities is key to helping them succeed on social, professional and economic levels – and we always take pride in being part of the newcomers settlement and integration journey.

It’s a sign of bravery.” ,

The past three months have been full of exciting moments! Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening from March to June:
English Conversation Circle Group Discovering Moncton Downtown
Last month, Teacher Nojood and her ECC student had a wonderful time exploring downtown Moncton.
The visit was a wonderful opportunity for the students to practice English vocabulary and expressions that were recently learnt in class: describing places, expressing their feelings and opinions, and giving and following directions.
Students explored different areas of the Riverfront and particularly enjoyed the La Bikery at the Riverfront in Moncton. This experience gave them an excellent opportunity to practice English outside the classroom. They engaged in the conversations and asked questions about the bikes, including pricing and rental duration.
Thank you La Bikery and Teacher Nojood.
Graduations:
Congratulations Start Up Cohort 7
MAGMA Language School team was happy to celebrate the graduation of Startup Cohort 7 last March. The graduation, which took place at the Atrium inMAGMA was a celebration of growth and connection, bringing together students from over 19 different countries. The Beginner Level class entertained delivered a skit, showcasing confidence, creativity and great sense of humour (thank you!).
The MAGMA Start-Up is a provincially funded program and is offered to non-PR (study permit holders, work permit holders and asylum claimants). It provides students a great opportunity of learning and improving their English language over the course of 12 weeks.
Congratulations Childcare Assistant Program Cohort 8
MAGMA Language School team was happy to celebrate the graduations of an energetic and dedicated group of learners; the Childcare Assistant Program Cohort 8; part of the Employment-Related Language Training program funded by IRCC. The students’ curiosity, collaboration, and enthusiasm truly stood out and brought a vibrant spirit to the class since day one and they continue to enrich our community with their passion and dedication to learning.
Congratulations Cohort 8! Keep learning and shining; we are proud of you proud and are delighted to have been part of your journey.
FISRP/PREi
Congratulations once again to FIRP/PREi Cohort 27 who celebrated their graduation last April at Dieppe Centre for Arts and Culture.
The event, which was organized by le CAFi, marked a proud and meaningful moment for the students and their instructors and the presence of the Mayor of Dieppe, Mr. Yvon Lapierre, was greatly appreciated.
The ceremony represented not only the completion of a training program, but also the hard work, resilience, and determination of international Francophone students as they prepare to build their future in Canada.
Throughout the program, which is provincially funded, students develop essential language, workplace, networking, and professional communication skills that help them adapt to the Canadian work environment.
New Programs! Healthcare Sector Related Language Training
A new program has been added to the MAGMA Language School Language Training as part of the IRCC-funded Employment-Related Language Training program; Healthcare Sector Related Language Training. The new 12-week program delivers language training to higher level language learners and is designed to help participants improve their English communication skills in Canadian healthcare settings. Throughout the course, students develop workplace communication skills needed to interact professionally with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
The training also focuses on healthcare-sector related terminology, as well as listening, reading, and writing skills commonly used in the sector. By the end of the program, participants gain greater confidence using English in healthcare workplaces and are better prepared for employment or further training in the healthcare field.
Upcoming new cohorts:
- Childcare Assistant Program
- Healthcare Sector Related Language Training
- Start-Up
- CELPIP preparatory course (July)
