MAGMA Participates in CUPE Newcomer Support Forum in Fredericton
The MAGMA team was pleased to take part in an important forum organized by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) in Fredericton—an event that brought together a wide range of organizations dedicated to enhancing support for newcomers across New Brunswick. The gathering highlighted the strong and growing commitment among community partners, service providers, and frontline workers to improving newcomer experiences and strengthening pathways to successful integration.
Throughout the forum, our team had the opportunity to share insights into MAGMA’s settlement services, including the programs and supports available to newcomer families as they navigate their settlement journey. The discussions opened valuable conversations about current challenges, emerging needs, and innovative approaches to helping newcomers feel welcomed, informed, and empowered as they build their new lives in the region.
Equally meaningful were the connections made with partner organizations who share a common vision of fostering inclusion, equity, and dignity for all newcomers. These exchanges allowed us to explore new collaborative possibilities, identify areas where services can better align, and reinforce a collective commitment to supporting families at every step of their transition.
MAGMA extends its sincere appreciation to CUPE and all participating organizations for hosting such a collaborative, insightful, and forward‑thinking event. We look forward to continuing this important work together and strengthening the network of support available to newcomers throughout New Brunswick.
MAGMA at the Greater Moncton Newcomer Settlement Fair!
The MAGMA team was proud to participate in the Greater Moncton Newcomer Settlement Fair at the Avenir Centre—an event designed to connect newcomers with the many programs, services, and community supports available throughout our region. The fair brought together a wide range of local organizations, agencies, and service providers, all dedicated to helping newcomers navigate their settlement journey with confidence and ease.
Throughout the day, our team welcomed attendees to the MAGMA booth, where we showcased the full range of services we offer, including language training, employment and career support, community connections, youth and family programs, and settlement guidance. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet newcomers from diverse backgrounds, answer questions, and provide personalized information to help them take their next steps in the community.
Events like this strengthen not only newcomer awareness but also collaboration across Greater Moncton. We appreciated the chance to reconnect with partner organizations, exchange updates, and continue building a strong, coordinated network of support for families settling in our region.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our table. Your enthusiasm and engagement made the day truly memorable. We look forward to continuing our work in welcoming and supporting newcomers as they build their futures in Greater Moncton.
